Collisions and calamities - latest Broads control update

Last week staff were on hand to help a woman who had fallen in when mooring at the entrance to Womack Water, although she was none the worse for her soaking.

And when a day boat crew left Reedham Quay without starting the engine a quay attendant was on hand with a throwing line and managed to sort them out.

While leaving Herringfleet mooring a hire vessel caused damage to a private boat when it accidentally struck it.

And on Barton Broad a 4mph sign suffered a heavy strike from an unknown vessel and a temporary repair was carried out.

Meanwhile Yare team rangers have been working with volunteers clearing bank side trees in Thorpe and Waveney Team rangers have also been undertaking tree work.

The installation of lay-by dolphins on Breydon Water has continued along with the dredging on the Lower Bure.
